Drama school The benefits.

Drama school the benefits.

Why go to drama school? Well there are many reasons, one of course might be that you want to be an actor. Which of course in my book is an excellent reason, after all I have been in the industry since I was seventeen, but not everyone wants to go to drama school because they want to be a great actor.

So why would you or your children choose to go to drama classes?

I think one of the biggest reasons has to be the amazing changes that occur over time. Confidence is a big one, I have literally seen children blossom before my eyes, children who have struggled in the class room, perhaps had difficulties academically but in a creative environment they sprout wings and fly.

Through drama you learn social skills, how to interact effectively with others, you learn to listen and believe it or not, listening is one of the greatest skills anyone can possess, it's probably the hardest too.

After all, if you don't listen how can you react appropriately?

Improvisation is a great way to really get your brain up to speed, with a few weeks improvisation under your belt you'll find you always have something to say, whether that's in the class room or the board room.
Your improvisational skills are often called upon when having to do a presentation, imagine how confident you would feel knowing you had the tools and skills to present confidently and articulately.

This summer was our fourteenth summer project and what a summer project it was, children from 8-16 years all having the time of their lives and all through one thing 'Drama' rest assured whether they become actors, electricians or doctors they will all look back at their years in drama school with the fondest of memories.
